Ryan Reynolds' National Football Team Will Take Part In The FIFA 22 Tournament

Sep-16-2021 PST

Wrexham AFC’s Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney are surprisingly playing in FIFA 22.

One of the strangest and most fascinating stories about Welsh sports came this year when Hollywood duo Reynolds and McKellenny became owners of Wrexham AFC, the oldest professional football club in Wales. The team, which is currently playing in the fifth level of the English Football League, has become a surprising addition to this year’s FIFA edition.

While the game usually only includes English Football League Level 2 teams (confusingly English Football League Level 4), Wrexham AFC has been added to the game’s other world category among other teams that don’t. Not suitable for any other games that the game already includes. Once the team was involved in the game, Reynolds and McElhenney set out on Twitter to announce the news in a typical comedy.

EA Sports confirmed in a press release that the company’s partnership with Wrexham AFC will continue for several years from FIFA 22 when the team will offer players access in the starting mode. While ‘Outdoors’ teams are not usually available in career mode, previous Titles allowed players to move teams between leagues, meaning players can potentially move two to Wrexham if they want to start their journey. In control with the Red Dragons.

The partnership between EA and Wrexham is set to extend beyond the field. According to a press release, EA Sports will start working in the local community through an initiative with the University of Wrexham Glyndwr. The company will also arrange a community hall for the club’s stadium.

“It’s awesome to partner with AFC Wrexham and support the club’s commitment to the Wrexham community and its fans,” said David Jackson, EA Sports ’brand director. "We are excited to launch innovative community projects in partnership with the club and to get Wrexham fans to try playing with their team in FIFA 22 when the game is released later this month."

In addition to this year’s edition of EA’s FIFA Series featuring the latest version of Wrexham, you can also create your own team that can be used in the game’s career mode. Clubs created by players are available in Manager Career mode and can be added to any of the many leagues in the game. When you add a team to the league, the club you create replaces the current club. In a fun twist, the changed club will be downgraded to the “rest of the world” category as it only joins the Wrexham AFC.

Finally, FIFA 22 will be officially released on October 1, 2021. Supports PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Series S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Google Stadia, Microsoft Windows and other platforms. Click here to buy FIFA 22 coins!
