RuneScape Celebrates World Mental Health Day with "Two-Week Splendor"

Oct-09-2020 PST

October 10 is World Mental Health Day, and RuneScape is drawing attention to the occasion by showcasing several in-game events over the next two weeks. As part of the Gielinorian Giving Charity Series, you can win a whole host of exclusive loot to participate in, including the Guardian of Fortitude Armor.

It lasts through October 18 and actors from Jagex 'Charity Partners Three can be found in Lumbridge Crater. Every two days, reps will give a new brain quiz to answer - do it right, you'll get free mobile craftsmanship lights and spots. Bring these Patches to Ulric, also found in Lumbridge Crater, along with some other material to let him create exclusive rewards for you - the most exciting being the Guardian of Fortitude Armor. A traveling craftsman can create items from past charity events, including:

    ■ Eugene Brain

    ■ Scoop and Percy Yeti

    ■ Plush the brain

All funds raised during the event will be provided to Jagex's three charity partners: Rise Above the Disorder, CPSL Mind and Prince's Trust. These organizations organize workshops for young people to help them address the challenges associated with mental illness and provide them with direct access to mental health resources.

In other October news, Jagex explained the confusion surrounding the Archaelogy XP Embargo expiration date. The new date is October 19, although after this date you can still use lamps and other items to increase XP earnings. Archeology is a new skill recently added to RuneScape, offering players a new way to experience Gielinor and featured en masse in the Desperate Measures mission.

RuneScape continues to thrive despite being a decades old MMO. It was recently announced that it will be available on Steam on October 14, and will likely bring in a new cast of residents for the already popular title. Not to be confused with Old School RuneScape, RuneScape offers improved visuals, new mechanics and a fully crafted combat system with OSRS Gold.

The Gielinorian Giving Event runs until October 18th. Head to Lumbridge Crater and visit one of the new non-player characters to start exclusive content.
