Following the announcement that the NFL Pro Bowl Championship will be held at Madden NFL 21 on Twitch this year, Madden NFL 21 is free to play this weekend. The decision to digitize the Pro Bowl this year is due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Traditionally, the Pro Bowl is an annual all-star game in Orlando, Florida, where the best players in the league are represented by the National Football League, AFC and NFC conferences.
To encourage everyone to take part in the new Pro Bowl celebrations this year, Madden NFL 21 is a free-to-play game for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S and X between now and January 31st. You can play for free on Google Stadia, which Madden just arrived this week. Players can play their own version of Pro Bowl at any time this weekend and unlock players from it to add to the Ultimate Team.
One of the interesting wrinkles that could make this year's Pro Bowl better than most is that it will actually feature the best NFL players. Because American football is a sport prone to injury, many league stars often sit in the optional game to avoid an injury that can last into the next NFL season. Kansas City Chiefs midfielder Patrick Mahomes and other Super Bowl LV competitors didn't play the Pro Bowl this year if it actually was, so despite being digital, this game has a chance of becoming one of the most professional Bowls, is absolutely competitive.
The Pro Bowl is the culmination of the NFL and Twitch's ongoing partnership as Twitch aired several playoff games this year. The NFL has been trying to enter new markets this year, after also teaming up with Nickelodeon to broadcast a game on that network in an effort to spark interest in the NFL among younger members of the public.
The 2021 Pro Bowl Championship takes place tomorrow (Sunday) at 3:00 pm EST and airs on Twitch. Hosted by NFL broadcaster Michael Stahan, the broadcast features 4 players on each team, consisting of past and current NFL stars and Snoop Dogg. Super Bowl LV takes place this weekend, Sunday, February 6.
Madden NFL 21 is now available for mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
